Easter Sunrise Service at Red Rocks Amphitheatre
We’d heard that there was a yearly Easter Sunrise Service at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. We’d missed it last year but decided to start our Easter morning this year by going to this service. As early as it was we realized it would be a lot harder to get up and out the door next year or any future year when children are involved.
The place was very busy when we arrived. The service begins at 6am and gates open at 4:30am. The website recommends arriving no later than 5pm. You really have to get there earlier. We were making our way up to the parking lot in a long line of cars by 4:45am. At that time the lot we were headed to was most of the way full. By the time we had walked up the ramp to the seating and looked back on the line of cars, people were already being turned around.
It was an awesome experience. Seated in the impressive amphitheatre, between the rocks, seeing the sun rise over the city, with music playing and the message of Jesus having risen being preached on stage. It was all pretty powerful. It was a great way to remember and appreciate Easter and its significance. We’d recommend attending Easter Sunrise Service at Red Rocks Amphitheatre at least once. Jesus is risen!
