A Weekend In Tillamook Oregon Itinerary
As we headed down the coast, we made a brief stop in Tillamook, Oregon, because…how could you drive by and not stop at the Tillamook Cheese Factory?! That was our main reason for visiting, and at first the only thing we new about the area.
But there is more to see and we found a lot to occupy our time. Here are some tips on how to spend a weekend in Tillamook and the surrounding area.

Tillamook Cheese Factory Tour
Start your weekend in Tillamook at the Tillamook Cheese Factory. We did the self-guided tour, where you could wander, read the signs, and peer down into the production areas.
Then, we of course went through the cheese tasting line (ok, ok, we went through twice), and then had some ice cream.

Munson Creek Falls
We also went to Munson Creek Falls, which is only a short quarter mile walk each way, but it was impressive to see.
I am a little unsure of the exact height, as I have seen several different heights listed, but the Oregon State Parks site says it is 319 feet tall and therefore the tallest waterfall in the Coast Range.

Huge clover!

Strangely, our RV park had some very friendly bunnies hopping about. This one came right up to us and we were able to pet it. Unfortunately, it turns out the owner of the park raised several rabbits, then decided to let them loose in the park. But…that means you have to wonder how well taken care of they are now, and of course the fact that they will quickly overrun the place.

Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area
On another day we went to lunch at the Pelican Pub & Brewery in Pacific City, just south of Tillamook. It is right on the beach so we had a great view of the waves and rocky outcroppings while eating.
Afterwards, we walked onto the beach and Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area. There were lots of pelicans as well as a sand dune and a cliff-side to explore.
