Since we still had some time off between arriving in Denver and going back to work, we decided to check out some local attractions when not busy house hunting or waiting to move in.

One day we wandered through the Colorado School of Mines Geology Museum in Golden, CO. The museum is free so you can’t beat that.

On the main level there are a lot of exhibit cases with minerals from Colorado and other states.

There are also numerous cases with items from around the world.

On the lower level there is a section for meteorites.

This one is familiar to us! Meteor Crater!

There is an alcove showing fluorescent minerals.

There is also a petrified wood and fossil corner. I really like the leaf fossils.

And we really enjoyed seeing and reading about the moon rocks on display.
