The Importance of Rest Days

The Importance of Rest Days

Share the Adventure:

Although we’ve been seeing a lot and trying to be pretty active on this trip in order to make the most of it, there’s a lot to be said for taking rest days as well. Since we’ve posted so much about what we’ve been doing when we are out and about, we thought we’d also quickly post about those days in which we’re not doing…well much of anything…and it’s sooo nice. Of course, rest days often include doing some laundry,…

Counting Our Blessings

Counting Our Blessings

Share the Adventure:

Of course this entire trip has been a giant blessing, one that we are appreciating very much and are definitely not taking for granted. Like we’ve said before, we felt like it was time to leave the DC area and move, including taking this time off for all the reasons we described. We definitely felt that after praying about it for some time, that God was telling us to take action rather than the message of patiently waiting we felt…

When we’re lucky, we’ll have WiFi directly in some of the campsites where we’ll be staying, but that hasn’t been the case since we left our friends’ house in IN. So, here we were setting up some posts from the last few days from a nearby lodge. It was quite comfy and convenient sitting there in the lobby! When we are not so fortunate, you’ll be hearing from us whenever we can find a local Starbucks or other place with…

RV Cooking 1

RV Cooking 1

Share the Adventure:

Cooking in our RV really isn’t all that different from cooking at home. We have a microwave, a three burner stove top, and a small oven. We are able to prep things over the stove top on a wooden cutting board we can lay over the top, on the cutting board that covers half of the sink, or on the dinette table. Mostly we just have to plan and use the space well, as it can get tight / cluttered…

We’ve hit the road!

After months of preparation we are now on the road. We are so thrilled to have kick started our adventure. And here is the perfect place to again thank everyone for their support as we planned for this get-away. The response we received from friends, family, and coworkers was overwhelmingly positive and we are so blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives! In life, you realize that some things don’t go according to plan.  Things sometimes have to…

Prep Work

Prep Work

Share the Adventure:

We sure have done a lot of work over the last month getting ready to go. First work, then play. I won’t bore you with the To Do list, but suffice it to say that packing our home and storing everything, packing our trailer, final car work, and all of the other prep work along with day to day things has kept us busy. Our town home will be rented out to friends that we hope love it as much…
